Igor Kogut (b.22.02.1953), in 1970-1975 he studied at the Electrophysical Faculty of the Lviv Polytechnic Institute, majoring in Semiconductor Devices specialty at the Department of Semiconductor Electronics of Lviv Polytechnic he completed postgraduate and doctoral studies, defended his PhD (1993, Kyiv Polytechnic Institute) and Dr.Sc (2010, NU “Lviv Polytechnic”) dissertation in the specialty “Solid State Electronics”. And now, Igor Kogut is proud to have studied and for many years collaborated with Lviv Polytechnic National University, as the role of the university and the semiconductor electronics graduation department, especially, two practices during 8 months of study at the Kiev Scientific Research Institute of Micro Devices were decisive in his labor life. In 1975-2000 he worked in the microelectronics industry – in the special design and technological bureau “Orizon” at JSC “RODON” (Ivano-Frankivsk), where he was sent after the Lviv Polytechnic Institute graduation. He held there the positions of Design Engineer, Chief of Design Bureau, Head of Microelectronics Department, Consultant to the Director of the special design and technological bureau. In 1995-1997 he worked as an associate professor at the Department of Semiconductor Electronics at Lviv Polytechnic National University Igor Kogut has repeatedly been the chief designer of R&D for the creation of new integrated microelectronics products. Under his leadership, specialized computing circuits for calculators, specialized single-chip computer control of television receivers, microprocessor VLSI, VLSi of static memory, wich were produced for many years.
Igor Kogut is the author and co-author of more than 200 scientific works, including 45 author’s certificates for inventions and patents of Ukraine, 1 monograph, textbooks. He was awarded the medal of the exhibition of achievements of the national economy of the SU (1988).

Scientific interests: research and development of perspective element base for computing, specialized computer systems for control systems, sensor electronics, microsystems-on-crystals based on perspective microelectronic technologies of large and very large integrated circuits with silicon-on-insulator structures , including their 3D architectures.
