Representatives of the IT company NetLS held a lecture for higher education students of the educational program “Computer Engineering”

On April 1, the Department of Computer Engineering and Electronics (CIE) of the Faculty of Physics and Technology held another meeting with representatives of the IT company NetLS.
The meeting was attended by scientific and pedagogical staff of the CIE department and higher education students studying in the educational and professional programs “Computer Engineering” at the bachelor’s and master’s levels of higher education. From the NetLS company, Olga Yatsyuk (HR-Generalist) and Kostyantyn Ketskalo (Middle Full-Stack .NET Developer) participated in the meeting.
Kostyantyn Ketskalo presented a presentation report to higher education students on the topic: “The Dark Side of Code: Anti-Patterns and How to Overcome Them.”
In his report, the speaker talked about the features of writing software code and ways to overcome its weaknesses. Special attention was paid to anti-patterns, which, at first glance, may seem like an effective and correct solution to an inexperienced programmer, but in reality, they subsequently lead to complex problems in the process of testing and developing the code. The speaker listed the main types of anti-patterns and described their main essence in detail using real examples, as well as analyzed in detail the consequences of poorly written code. At the end of the report, Konstantin Ketskalo shared the basic rules that experienced code developers use to avoid anti-patterns, in particular, following the SOLID principles, adhering to best structuring practices, identifying common anti-patterns in code, etc.
Olga Yatsyuk told the students about the unique opportunity to complete a 3-month internship at NetLS, after which you can be employed in this company, which is mainly focused on the development of regional business, in particular in the city of Ivano-Frankivsk.
The meeting was held in an extremely warm and friendly atmosphere, the students learned a lot of interesting information about writing software code and its testing.
The scientific and pedagogical staff and students of the KIE department are sincerely grateful to the specialists of the NetLS company for the lecture on a relevant topic and wish for further fruitful cooperation in the field of information technologies.
