Red Cross representatives gave a lecture on mine danger

On September 16, 2025, representatives of the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Organization of the Ukrainian Red Cross Society held a lecture at the Department of Computer Engineering and Electronics for students and academic staff on raising awareness about mine risk hazards. In the current conditions of a full-scale war in Ukraine caused by the neighboring aggressor state, this topic remains highly relevant.
The speakers provided detailed information about the specific risks associated with mines and explosive devices. In addition, they presented the different types of mines and explosive objects in detail and described their potential impact on humans. Students received comprehensive information about areas that may pose a danger and were instructed on safe behavior algorithms in case of discovering suspicious objects.
The speakers also drew special attention not only to general safety rules but also to another significant threat — the recruitment of teenagers through social networks and messaging platforms for participation in dangerous activities, including planting explosives, making secret stashes, or delivering suspicious items.
The meeting took place in a very warm and friendly atmosphere, with all participants actively engaging in discussions, asking questions, and sharing their own thoughts.
The staff of the Department of Computer Engineering and Electronics sincerely thanks the Red Cross mine risk awareness instructor of the regional organization, Liubomyr Demchuk, for conducting the event. Together, we raise awareness and promote a culture of safety!
