On 9 April 2025, an online training on the topic: “How to recognise sexual harassment?” was held at the Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University. The speaker of the event was Natalia Vyshnevetska, an expert in gender equality and anti-discrimination. The aim of the online training was to raise awareness of all participants in the educational process about the prevention of sexual violence and the creation of a safe environment in higher education institutions.
Students and scientific and pedagogical staff of the Department of Computer Engineering and Electronics of the Faculty of Physics and Technology had the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the key aspects and manifestations of any harassment that violates the inviolability of a person’s private life, in particular manifestations of unlawful acts of sexual harassment in the academic environment. Special attention was paid to the explanation of concepts such as sexism, sexual harassment and other related terms, which allowed for a deeper understanding of the nature of such phenomena and the forms in which they manifest themselves in everyday life. During the event, practical cases and legal mechanisms for responding to such situations were discussed, and attention was also drawn to the importance of creating a culture of zero tolerance towards all forms of violence.
