FPGA for 5G generation wireless communication systems

Xilinx introduced a new FPGA for the implementation of 5G generation wireless communication systems, manufactured at 16 nm technological process, in which the company has added analogue-digital electronics of the gigahertz range. All programmable RFSoCs eliminate the need for separate data converters, which reduces 50-75% power consumption and dimensions for applications in 5G technology.

Integrating high-speed DACs and ADCs in programmable systems on the SoC crystal will allow developers to optimize design and reduce the number of development cycles for wireless 5G systems.

The FPGA includes:

– Several 12-bit ADCs with a frequency up to 4 GSPS with digital decimator filters

– Several 14-bit DACs up to 6.4GSPS with built-in interpolation filters
